The source of everything: mobile SDK data
The data collected by and processed by Accurat is mobile SDK location data. It is data collected from smartphones by users who explicitly share their location data with an application โat all timesโ.
An SDK - short for Software Development Kit - is embedded by partner applications that provide a clear location-based benefit to its users. Think of weather apps, traffic apps, promotional apps and the likes that respectively remind you of an upcoming weather, a traffic jam or help remind you to not forget about a promotion now you are instore.
Together with requesting the location permission for the specified use case, an additional GDPR consent is requested to use the collected data for aggregated insights such as marketing performance or market research.
As a result, every day, data is collected throughout the day and shared at irregular intervals (at least once a day) with the Accurat big data environment. On the right hand side, the screenshot depicts the coordinates collected throughout the day for one user. Depending on the device, mark, model as well as the movement of the user, the number of coordinates varies between 10 (a day at home) and +300 coordinates per day (travelling from stop to stop such as in the example).
