Summer quality update: Locatus partnership & improved panel size & representativity

With our newest quality update, we aim to end the summer period on a high note. Our summer quality update (or "big release") is a mix of new partnerships, refined algorithms and new integrations all combined into one large-scale update. The main is goal is to not only keep expanding our product's possibilities, but also continuously finetune our existing reports and their corresponding metrics.

What can you expect from our update?

  • A new partnership with Locatus providing access to their extensive and regularly-updated online shop database in the BeNeLux. Their property-level information (e.g., outlet name, sector, polygon, surface area, etc.) will further enhance our location data and allow us to reach out to more sectors and provide more depth in our analyses.
  • Similar to last year's update, we've implemented our SDK technology in new partner applications to continuously improve our panel size and representativity. This helps finetune existing metrics, fill out whitespots and allows for more fine-grained analyses.
  • Further improvements to our algorithm include: automatically detecting and solving irregularities in shop metadata, improved monitoring of opening/closing days (especially during holidays) and better interaction between our different data sources which will positively impact long-term metric trends.

A new update means new possibilities, but also new and slightly adapted figures in your existing and future reports. To ensure a smooth transition, we will automatically be recalculating all historic reports up to 2 months to ensure all reports are adopting the same methodology. This recalculation process wil start (and finish) during the week of the 8th of September. All older reports will be removed to avoid confusion or misinterpretations.

TrafficTracer pin-drop

The TrafficTracer product will allow you to decide where you want to roll out your digital counting loop with one simple click on a map.
This will have the following benefits for you as a user:

  • More freedom to decide where to roll out the counting loop. When setting up a case, you start with determining your address as usual, after which you can place the counting loop on any (noteworthy) road in Belgium of your choice by simply clicking on that location on the map.
  • More transparency as a user as you now know exactly where the counting loop is situated and for which road you are generating the number of passers-by.
  • More options within TrafficTracer since you can now also roll out a counting loop for locations without a clear address (e.g. highways).

New Data Source Implementation for Belgium and the Netherlands

Over the past few months, we have been working hard on implementing a new data source for Belgium and the Netherlands. In parallel, several of our core algorithms have been further refined to ensure improved data accuracy.

What does this update include?

Our current panel is being expanded with this new data source, which provides approximately 30% more location data on average across all players, regions, and store locations. In addition, several algorithms responsible for maintaining data quality throughout the process have been significantly improved.

What does this mean for you?

Following extensive QA testing, adjustments where necessary, and several weeks of trial runs, the results are clear: data accuracy has improved across the board—at national, regional, and local levels—for all users. As modern tools like ChatGPT have already shown, more relevant data leads to better precision. This principle is essential in the world of retail market research, where every visitor counts.
